Up and over garage doors in Inverness
Up and over garage doors are the most popular garage doors. It is as simple as lifting the door and sliding it into the garage roof space, and they offer an affordable, robust and reliable option, with a wide range of styles, materials, finishes and colours to complement your home.
There are two styles of up and over door:
- Canopy: part of the door overhangs the garage entrance when it is open, creating a canopy. Simple and economical.
- Retractable: the door retracts completely into the roof space of the garage on horizontal tracks, giving a little more drive-through height.
We supply and fit Hörmann Berry up and over doors. Hörmann offer them in steel and solid timber, with ribbed, panelled and clean-lined designs, and a matching side door is available for almost every style. Hörmann’s up and over doors are tested to European Standard 13241, and a rotary catch lock fixes the corners of the door to the frame for security.
Up and over doors can also be automated, either when they are fitted or later with a retrofit electric opener, so you can open the door from the comfort of your car.

Common questions
What is the difference between a canopy and a retractable door?
A canopy door leaves part of the door sticking out over the entrance when open, forming a canopy. A retractable door slides completely inside the garage on tracks, giving more clearance.
Can an up and over garage door be made automatic?
Yes. We supply and install automatic up and over doors, and we can also convert many existing up and over doors with a retrofit electric opener.
What materials do up and over doors come in?
Steel is the most common, in a wide range of colours and designs. Solid timber up and over doors are also available.
Can you repair my up and over door?
